Clinical trials support some of Prolon's claims, such as promoting metabolic benefits. However, it is not intended as a quick weight loss solution or a magic fix for weight management. The program discourages exercise during the fasting period, as transitioning into ketosis can induce symptoms like brain fog, fatigue, and body aches. Participants may experience energy spikes and euphoria by day four, followed by a potential decline in energy and mood by day five. Day six allows for the gradual reintroduction of light, plant-based foods.

While Prolon can contribute to metabolic improvements, it is not without its concerns, particularly regarding the potential for encouraging disordered eating patterns. The diet is primarily plant-based, including fatty fish and whole grains, and promotes anti-inflammatory, antioxidant-rich foods, which support healthy gut bacteria growth and effective hormone balance.
